   Monterey, CA / Bluefish Wall

max. depth: 33.0 m
dive time: 45 min

notes:

Glenn's new boat.

Attempted to find Gorgonian Rock (or whatever it is we called it ;-) out by Bluefish Wall. We didn't find the gorgonians, but we did find a large (25 m) wall covered in corynactus. We probably hovered in that one spot for 15 minutes taking in the wall, the surrounding landscape, and the fish overhead. The visibility was steller (20+ m). We could see ripples on the surface from the bottom (33 m). Saw a sheepshead which looked a lot like Victor, but he would have been pretty far from home. Dodged a hailstorm of jellies on the safety stop (ID help: they looked just like egg-yolk jellies but the oral arms were white instead of yellow/orange). One of them had a long Siphonophore wrapped around it, although it looked like it was part of the jelly.

Swell 8 ft. Surge pretty strong.
